(neomycin sulphate) is a broad spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic which acts bacteriostatic and bactericidal at high concentrations and is very effective against E.coli, Salmonella & Campylobacter Neomycin interferes in bacterial protein synthesis at the ribosomal level. After oral administration, only a fraction (< 5%) is absorbed systemically and the rest remains active in the gastro-intestinal tract and is not inactivated by enzymes or food which makes it an ideal drug for treating the enteric infections in poultry and ruminants
