It has a bacteriostatic effect on susceptible organisms, caused by inhibition of protein synthesis through binding to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. Tylosin has a wide spectrum of activity against gram- positive bacteria. It has also shown to be extremely active against Mycoplasma species isolated from both mammalian and avian hosts. The following represents MIC susceptibility data for a few medically significant pathogens: Mycoplasma bovis: 0.06µg/mL- 4 µg/mL Staphylococcus aureus: 0.5 µg/mL ->128 µg/mL BROMHEXINE Bromhexine is a mucolytic agent used in the treat- ment of respiratory disorders associated with viscid or excessive mucus. In addition, bromhexine has antioxi- dant properties. Bromhexine is intended to support the body’s mechanisms for clearing mucus from the respiratory tract. It is secretolytic, increasing the production of serous mucus in the respiratory tract and make the phlegm thinner and less viscous. This contributes to a secretomotoric affect by helping the cilia transport the phlegm out of the lungs. PHENYLBUTAZONE Phenylbutazone is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for the short-term treatment of pain and fever in animals. TRIMETHORIM Trimethoprim binds to dihydrofolate reductase and inhibits the reduction of dihydrofolic acid(DHF) to tetrahydrofolic (THF). It is indicated for the treatment of infections due to susceptible strains of Escherichi- acoli, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter species and coagulase-negative Staphylococcus species, including S. saprophyticus. SULPHAMETHOXYPYRIDAZINE Sulphamethoxypyridazine is a long-acting sulfona- mide antibacterial used for the treatment of chronic bronchitis
